Un poco lentos en verano. Tenemos once niveles acabados y aun hay que perfilar otros tantos. A este paso no terminamos hasta las Navidades ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A bit slow in the summer, we have already 11 levels finished but there are still 11 to do. We will, most likely, be done by Christmas.

Otra vez manos a la obra, el juego ha avanzado un poco. Ya tenemos nivel 12. Aquí dejo un vídeo. Por cierto. Ya tiene nombre: Retroforce.

This game looks gorgeous! The scroll is really fast, are you planning to enable an "easy" mode with bit slower scroll? --------------------- El juego tiene una pinta brutal! El scroll es muy rápido, ¿tienes pensado implementar un modo "fácil" con un scroll un poco más lento?

El scroll es muy rápido, ¿tienes pensado implementar un modo "fácil" con un scroll un poco más lento? The game will have 6 different ways to play it. Each way has its own difficulty. I hope that the difficulty will be increasing in the game with the enemies too. The scroll speed is not very important. You must notice that this is level 12, so the player will be good pilot!!! ---------------------------------- El juego va a tener 6 tipos distintos de dificultad a elegir por el jugador. Espero ajustar bien la curva de dificultad en cada uno. La velocidad del scroll no es muy importante al respecto. Además, hay que tener en cuenta que este es el nivel 12, por lo que el jugador ya tiene que ser un buen piloto si ha llegado hasta aquí!!!

There are bosses at the end of each level, but in the similar way of the original. Not very difficult. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sí. Hay jefes al final de cada nivel, pero muy parecidos al juego original, osea que no muy difíciles.

The game is pretty much complete now, with us simply tidying up an instruction manual in English & Spanish, and trying to decide how to use the last 100 bytes for a short musical score at the end, on game completion... We've been using the MusicBox music engine, which isn't wonderful for sound, but is very economical in terms of memory at least... The 24 levels we planned are in there... We agonized over how we should end the game, and opted for a short story sequence rather than trying to squeeze in another level... Ending the project is always the stage I find the hardest in many ways, since we both often feel a little insecure about letting something go from us until we're sure everything is absolutely perfect, but at the same time, its so easy to nit-pick and fiddle with a project forever (development hell)... Im always afraid of letting something go, and THEN having an idea about something that needs to be changed, but to be honest, Im not seeing anything obvious here that needs to be changed further - I think, once we settle on the musical score on game completion and make any final necessary adjustments to the manual for the music credits, that will probably be that... And then, Climacus will release it... In terms of our chances of doing well in this competition, I have to say, Im very impressed with some of the entries that are appearing this year... its going to be a tough choice for the judges this year!!!!... Events like this really do make me realize that the Spectrum community is doing just fine...

English manual pretty much done... Game is now in its final form... End game music clip now chosen by Climacus, and credit put into the manual to reference same.. Now we're just finishing off the Spanish manual, looking out for any final bugs, and will likely release the game at end of this week...

Earlier than expected we will be able to enjoy the game. Such game, with all its aspects so well taken care of and with the flavour of the 80s is going to have a lot of fans, for sure. Looking forward to seeing the final product! Again, big thanks to climacus and Karl for teaming up together creating these amazing games
